my primary contributions to the project were a series of performances from 1979-84 that were integrated into the piece and several sessions during those years where roberta and i went deep into the a pre-gentrified alphabet city and up along riverside drive in harlem searching for derelict cars that i would tag with lines from the Erl King lyrics that she would then photograph
